Sunshine & Sewing in Spain

Myself & Mr Mac have just spent a rather brilliant couple of weeks whizzing around the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain, in the company of the equally brilliant Muz & Mrs Muz.

We dipped our toe’s in this area on a previous bike trip and promised ourselves at that time that we would come back and explore for a bit longer, and boy were we not disappointed! The ginormous grin you can sort of see under my helmet above was pretty much stuck to my face for a whole fortnight!

Our first base for a few nights under canvas was the El Cares campsite in the Leon area of the mountains, a truly breathtaking location with mountains all around you – rooms with a view definitely!

The roads in the mountains are really epic – every road is wiggly and around every bend and hairpin is another ‘oooh wow’ inducing vista – I’m no Valentino Rossi so I really do get time to enjoy the views!

After a week with our heads in the clouds we headed back towards the coast, where mountain views gave way to beach scenes and some sewing in the sunshine. On our last night we had a BBQ on the beach at our campsite in Pechon and were treated to the most amazing sunset. A great adventure and lots of lovely memories made. I always get less sewing done than I think i’ll do though!
